You can select the Provider tab to choose an appropriate OLE DB Provider.Īvoid choosing the Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (the thunk layer adapter for using ODBC from ADO). Then you should be able to double-click on that to cause Explorer to open it in the Data Link Properties dialog. Create an empty file, for example "ZZZ.txt" then rename it as "ZZZ.udl" and you have an empty Universal Data Link. Since you are doing "dark world" script-like procedural coding rather than normal VB6 development there is still a hack to get you there. If you were using VB6 DataEnvironments as you should you would have direct access to the ADO Connection Data Link Properties dialog.
